Have you ever been so hungry?
you would eat from the trash, beg for leftovers, steal groceries, eat dog and/or cat food.
Have you ever been so broke?
you would ask strangers for change, hop the train, turn in bottles, collect pennies from the ground, sell your valuables, and do anything for a dollar.
Have you ever been without a home?
wishing someone would let you stay for at least one night, you sleep in your car, on the subway trains, stairwells, with a stranger from the club, under the overpass, or anywhere you can close your eyes and forget for one small moment the cold world is real.
Many of us know not these trials, yet so many know it's reality. Next time you walk, ride, drive, eat or find yourself in a public space take a look around you; become aware. Before you judge the homeless man, the smelly woman or the dirty kid; imagine what a "day in the life" is like for them. Honestly, you never know how you could end up. Remember, anything is possible Good and Bad, Fortune and Misfortune. Ultimately, our, "Choices vs. Consequences" = "Life" and sometimes "shit does happen." So, don't cast, castaway the first stone.
